Olympians come in all shapes, sizes and abilities, but the share common attributes, sheer will, and determination. They have ability to inspire all of us and to challenge what we perceived notions of what we feel to be limitations. In reality they rise above, them and show us that we are only limited because we tell ourselves we can't. What if we spent a day or even a lifetime telling ourselves and others that we can?

For those of you that don't know the "Special Olympics" is for gifted athletes that are far from average, but in a very wonderful way. Though they are born with some forms of impairment, they make up in special unique ways. Truly they are no different from any of us. Each athlete dreams, hopes, and celebrates their triumphs.

Be a friend, be inspired, you never know what you can learn from others.

Special Olympics looks for those that can donate time, and financial support. One of the most rewarding things to do is be there to hug an athlete as they finish their part of the competition.
